Your Yard Reimagined
This Pound Ridge homeowner was ready to eliminate their lawn in favor of a native habitat. Given the shady exposure, we created a lush woodland garden that naturally blends in with the existing mature trees and the character and color of the home.
We planted northeast native woodland species in a matrix, weaving in drifts of wild ginger, wood poppy and columbine among the sedges, ferns, foamflower, and heuchera. On the sunny edge along the driveway, we planted a hedge of hoary mountain mint and a dash of woodland phlox to create an inviting entrance to the path toward the front door.
